Fast and reliable card September 3, 2010 This card is relatively fast. I'm using it more than 2 years and everything is OK.
Works in 2010 Mercedes Benz E Class August 29, 2010 After much searching to find a card and adapter to work in the COMAND Sysytem in my 2010 Benz, I gave this a try. I bought it along with an 8gb Transcend CF Card. They worked flawlessly. Others have reported many problems trying to get any of these things to work in the COMAND system. I loaded it up with 7.5 gb of music (which is its full capacity) and now I never have to listen to another commercial on radio. MB wants 100 bucks for the adapter and another 40 for a 2 gb card. This combo came out to less than 40 bucks. Highly recommend....
Not great for video. August 18, 2010
I purchased this card for use with the Canon 5D Mark II. The Transcend works fine for photography. Hhowever, with the video footage I shot on this card, I noticed that the card was not quite fast enough. The images outside the depth of field are pixelated. Round images within the range of focus were also pixelated. I would recommend spending the extra money and going with a SanDisk if you intend to use a compact flash card for video production.
Transcend 8 GB 133x CompactFlash July 9, 2010 I have no problems with this card. It's faster than my last San Disk 1gb card and upload and download speeds are quick and responsive.
Good for one picture at a time... June 28, 2010 I purchased this CF card along with a few others before taking pictures at a wedding. I bought the (Transcend 8gb 133x) and a pair of (Sandisk 4gb 30mb/s). I was taking many setup pictures of where the wedding was before anyone got there, and was planing on only using the Transcend card for single pictures at a time with no movie mode or 3.5/or/8.0fps burst.
I had the Transcend card in my 7d when the groom arrived and wanted pictures with him and his best man. I was taking a few pictures on single exposure mode one after the other (10+ in a row) and the card locked up. I would have replaced the card with the higher rated Sandisk but I did not have time to go back and get the card. Because of the lockup (was not even sure it was the card for a few minutes) I had lost some great pictures of the best man and the groom that I will never get back. Although I did have a second camera around my neck but it was to late by that time (still got some good pictures with the backup).
When I got the the hotel to download all the pictures to the two separate hard drives for back up the write times were not bad at all and on average to the other cards I have used. So if that is a concern of yours. Do not worry about that.
TO SUM IT UP: My point that I am trying to get at, is that this card is a great card ONLY if you are going to be taking a few pictures at at time and waiting for the buffer in the camera to empty out. I tested the camera and card to it's limits at the wrong time and it bit me in the ass. The card should have been able to handle the pictures. The movie mode was something I know it can not handle well also. So if you are taking lots of pictures, one after the other, buy another card. BUT if you only take a picture here and there and can wait a few seconds for it to buffer, this is a great card for you.
