I used this once with success, but the second time I tried to use it (in the middle of our family vacation) there was an error on the card. It does not work and I lost all my photos. Extremely disappointed.

Sometimes they work great then other times not so well. I have used this card in both Canon and Nikon SLR's and both times they would work just fine for a bit then the cameras would start having problems reading the files. And yes I reformat every time so that was not it. I use Lexar and never had this problem nore have I with San Disk just these Kingstones for some reason. Once is enough for me Ill stick with Lexar Pro cards from now on. Stay away from these if you value your photos.

5 out of 5 stars Can't afford an IronKey? Try this.   August 14, 2010
If you're like most people and don't need military-grade hardware encryption on your portable storage [...] just to store files on a portable drive, try this compact flash card.

Kingston has a very good track record for making very fast, very stable and reliable storage media. Their 8GB Pro Elite card has enough space to store applications and large files, but not some much that you'll cry your eyes out if if gets shocked and dies (happens), and you probably won't feel like you've wasted your money if you don't ever use all of it.

I've used mine with very inexpensive -- $10-$12 -- Zeikos, GE, and Kingston readers to run applications as memory-intensive as Photoshop and the Flock web browser, and they run without a hitch. It's read/write speed is designed to accommodate high-end digital cameras like the Nikon D Series, so it has enough horses to be a poor-man's iPod. Try storing your MP3s and a player. Your music with play without interruption for hours.

Since the card doesn't require you to load any drivers, you can plug it into a Windows PC or Apple computer and not worry that the damn thing won't mount. At about $25, it's very, very affordable way to make your way into cross-platforming in the 21st century.

I was shooting a friend's wedding and was able to take pictures (raw images) until all the sudden I got an error message. I switched out the card with another brand. I didn't think much of the problem until I came home to download the pictures. I turned on my camera on and it said bad CF card. I put the card in a memory card reader and no images to be found. I downloaded a reputable memory card disk recovery program and running it on the card. To my dismay, I see a lot of bad sectors and so far no images to be found.

I read another review and I concur that there seems to be a problem with the cards from 2008.

Never buying from Kingfish again and plan to return my cards.
