 Don't make the same mistake I made - You WILL be sorry!! August 29, 2010
I really think twice before leaving bad reviews on Amazon, but this piece of garbage really deserves it. I put 1 star because there's no option for no stars. I've had this drive for a week and right from the start it was extremely slow. Now, it JUST DIED! With all my data on it. Pictures, videos, work documents - things I'll never be able to get back.
I called Kingston to let them know about the problem. First they tried to convince me that my drive was a fake one. When I insisted I bought it off a reputable site, they asked me for the serial number before confirming it was indeed one of theirs. THEN, they told me I'd need to call the warranty department to see if they'd replace it! When I asked about my data, the guy essentially told me "Yea that's too bad". This is disgustingly disappointing.
As another reviewer said, how are you supposed to send them your broken DataTraveler with all your data on it?? It's ridiculous.
DO NOT BUY FROM KINGSTON!

From the dealer "CANDLEMIST" it is a FAKE !!!!!!!
One star is to much, but you have to do minimum one.
Very Poor Quality July 24, 2010
After several months of light usage, the drive is unusable. Several computers I use recognize that it's been plugged in, but you are unable to mount it and are therefore unable to get at it's contents. In general, I've tried to be very careful with the drive since it's construction is quite flimsy, but evidently not careful enough. A total piece of junk.
Counterfeit product July 16, 2010
Product does not work. Called manufacturer. It was counterfeit product sold by vendor.

Thank goodness the Amazon refund guarantee was available. The product received was a lesser capacity drive force formatted to show 128 Gb on a random sweep and then freeze up on any data transfer activity. I confirmed with Kingston that it was a counterfeit from the word go. The seller didn't even have the smarts to ship a "200" marked drive, sending instead a "120" 4GB drive. Kudos to Amazon for the quick action and refund.
