Corrupted images July 25, 2010 I have the several of the 4 GB version of this card and they work well. So I ordered 4 of the 8 GB version. Three out of the four cards consistently created random corrupted images. I can no longer trust this brand in a professional setting, so I returned all four.
Works Like It Should July 6, 2010 I got this card for my Sony DSLR camera and it works just like I expected it to. I can't comment on the continuous shooting speed, because I have never used a faster card in my camera, but it shoots fast enough for me and stores about 500 RAW shots at 10.2MP each.
Kingston Elite Pro 8 GB July 2, 2010 I use this CF card in my Nikon D300 and for the most part it works great, but since it's not a Nikon recommended card every so often the camera will not recognize it (I get a 'CHA' warning flashing on the display). To solve this problem I just have to turn the camera off and on. I have been using it for weeks and I haven't lost any images when this problems occurs, I just restart the camera and everything is fine. This minor issue is not enough to make me regret my purchase, especially since this card is relatively cheap for 8 GB.
3 "g's" : good price, good product, good company July 2, 2010 Great product . Used on ny trip and hasn't failed me. The only thing I didn't really like was the really slow shipping from amazon. Good thing was that I purchased the item with 3 weeks in advance, with it taking almost 2 weeks to arrive. Other than that great product extremely reliable and great capacity!!!
LOST DATA / BAD TECH SUPPORT June 28, 2010 I format the card inside my Canon 5D as I have always done with other brands. I started taking pictures (RAW) and after 3/4 of the card's capacity, the camera showed a warning saying that it was not possible to read data. I insert the card into the reader at home and it shows the card but it doesn't show any data. Anyways, it does show that there's available only 2.84GB. So I thought I could retrieve the images. These images were taken on a trip to Zion NP so these images are worth a lot (money). This has never happened with any of the brands I have used before, not to Sandisk neither Lexar cards (which are the only ones I buy). I called technical support for instructions and software on how to retrieve this data, and they say "We don't give software" so you have to buy it. This is bad service. The guy was not helpful at all. I was not looking for compensation for the images, I asked politely for help and given the fact it was a defective card, I needed (wanted) the MediaRECOVER software that comes with the CompactFlash Ultimate 266X. I receive a mean NO, we don't do that...
In my 10 years using CompactFlash cards this is the first time a card has failed, maybe because I only use Lexar and Sandisk.
I will never buy any kingston product again in my life. I suggest you don't buy from them, you are warned...
Very frustrating and sad situation.
